I believe that the financial terms involved in the
representation of my clients should be discussed
candidly at the beginning of the attorney-client
relationship, as well as any time it is of concern to a
client, whether it be a flat fee or hourly rate. In certain
cases, like workers' compensation, the fee is contingent
and awarded by the compensation judge. My hourly
rate is comparable to other like experienced attorneys
in northern New Jersey. Fee information is confirmed in writing in the form of a retainer agreement or letter. My hourly billing files are usually handled on a monthly basis so that a client is able to keep abreast of the fees as a matter progresses. In all cases I account in detail to the client all of my fees and expenses.
